| Dr. Jen-Shi CHEN, MD Medical Oncologist / Professor Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Dr. Chen, born in Taiwan, is a medical professional with extensive training and experience. He graduated from China Medical University in Taichung, Taiwan, and completed his residency and medical oncology training at Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (CGMH). In 1995, he enhanced his expertise through clinical training at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He currently serves as Professor of the Department of Hematology-Oncology at Linkou CGMH and Chang Gung University. Dr. Chen has held several leadership positions, including Chairman of the Academic Committee of the Taiwan Oncology Society (2013–2015), Secretary General of the Organizing Committee of the Asian Society of Clinical Oncology (2014), and Chairman of the Medical Oncology Committee of the Taiwan Oncology Society (2015–2017). In 2023, he was appointed President of the Taiwan Oncology Society. Dr. Chen is a member of multiple professional and cancer research organizations, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the European Society for Medical Oncology, the Taiwan Society of Internal Medicine, the Taiwan Cooperative Oncology Group, and the Taiwan Clinical Oncology and Taiwan Oncology Societies. His primary research interests include clinical trials for cancers of the upper gastrointestinal tract, pancreatic-biliary cancers, gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), neuroendocrine tumors, and quality of life in oncology care. He has participated in numerous international clinical studies and served as Principal Investigator (PI) for several PI-initiated studies. To date, Dr. Chen has authored over 220 peer-reviewed articles. Notably, he co-authored studies, including the Sunitinib study for pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors published in the *New England Journal of Medicine (2011), the S-1 (GEST) study for pancreatic cancer in the Journal of Clinical Oncology (2013), and the Nivolumab ATTRACTION-2 study for gastric cancer in The Lancet (2017). Most recently, his contributions include the TOPAZ-1 study on first-line treatment for biliary tract cancer and the Taiwan Pancreas Society's guidelines on systemic treatment for pancreatic cancer in 2023. He is currently involved in several novel anti-cancer drugs studies. |
